Social Outreach
Giving back to the society has always been the guiding principle behind activities conducted at SCLC. In an attempt to nurture the socially responsible citizens SCLC conducts wide range of activities for extending the helping hand to the disadvantaged and vulnerable section of society. Its activities are focused at sensitizing students about the pain and sufferings of weaker section of society and ability of the law to redress their grievances. In the journey of SCLC to discharge the social responsibility, following are the important milestones:-
Make it happen Centre for Invention, Innovation and Incubation (MCIII):- This centre is established by Marathwada Mitra Mandal in collaboration with Tata Technologies Ltd. and Science and Technology Park. The MCIII project investment is about INR 200 million excluding space and infrastructure. It intends to act as one stop shop to provide high end and industry specific training, to convert innovative ideas to products and to become entrepreneur and to provide domain specific placement opportunities. Through its various departments, the centre provides the training and mentorship to the students, faculties, industry persons and innovators to upgrade their skills with high end technology tools and industrial experiential learning. Specifically for the law field, the Centre intends to extend helping hand to the law firms and law practioners.
Family Counselling Centre:- In an attempt to carry forward the legacy of social responsibility laid down by Late Shri Shankarraoji Chavan, founder president of Marathwada MitraMandal, the Family Counselling Centre was established 2013. It was formally inaugurated at the auspicious hands of Hon’ble JusticeAnil Dave, Judge, and Supreme Court of India. The centre works under the guidance of Hon’ble V.V.Shahpurkar, former principal judge, family court Pune and a panel of experts comprising of Dr. Pravin Motiwala and Mr. Sudam Gayake, former counselors of family court Pune. The panel of experts comprises of renowned psychologist and medical practitioners along with legal professionals. The Family Counselling Centre imparts free counselling and advice to the needy people. In addition to it, to sensitize students about the gender related issues and family issues it conducts many activities such as workshops and seminar.

Legal Aid Centre:- To provide free legal aid to the society, the SCLC has established the Legal Aid Centre in 2005. It was inaugurated at the auspicious hands of Justice P. B. Sawant, former judge of the Supreme Court, Delhi. Legal aid is free legal assistance to the poor and weaker sections of the society with the object to enable them to exercise the rights given to them by law. The centre comprises a panel of eight advocates, faculty in-incharge, student coordinator and committee of 20 students. It provides free legal aid to the needy people. In addition to it every year the centre conducts various activities such as participation in legal aid clinics and Lok Adalat, outstation legal literacy programmes, drafting newsletters and mental health awareness programmes etc. In the year 2021 our volunteers actively participated in National Lok Adalat and and completed Pan India Awareness and Outreach campaign




NSS:- With the objective to develop student’s personality through community service, to identify the needs and problems of the community and involve them in problem solving process and to develop among themselves a sense of social responsibility, SCLC started NSS unit of 50 Student Volunteers from the academic year 2017-18. Throughout the year it conducts various programs such as residential camps, blood donation camps, cleanliness drives and many more to render community help.
During the pandemic the NSS Unit conducted blood donation camps, vaccination drives, Legal Aid Camp at Ambi Village as a service during these tough times. NSS volunteers appointed by competent authorities as Covid Warriors.

Cell for Human Rights Activities:- To sensitize our students regarding the human rights and values SCLC has established this cell. It is an initiative of an informal group of students who are interested in promoting human rights amongst one and all. This cell was inaugurated at the auspicious hands of legal luminary Senior Advocate Shri. Ram Jethmalani on 15th December, 2012. Every year, through this cell college organizes “Human Rights-Week” for all the students of Law fraternity with the object of inculcating human rights values and sensitizes the students about promotion of human rights. Throughout the year the cell conducts various activities such as visit and donations to NGO, workshops and seminars on various human rights issues, street plays and rallies etc.
Social Welfare Activities during Pandemic:- Marathwada Mitra Mandal distributed school bags and other educational materials at Zilla Parishad Schools of Umrath, Sakhar, Mossarde at Taluka-Poladpur, District-Raigad in flood affected areas of Konkan. Recently, our Executive President Prin. B. G. Jadhav was awarded Gurumahatamya Puraskar for his contribution towards the education field.
