About IQAC

As per the NAAC guidelines, on 1st June, 2015 Internal Quality Assurance Cell was constituted in the Institute. The cell is conceived as a mechanism to build and ensure a quality culture in the institution. To accomplish the objectives manifested by NAAC, IQAC has been dedicatedly engrossed to achieve it. Observance of quality enhancement, channelization of dedication towards academic excellence and modification and adoption of the best suitable system to perk up work culture in the institute consistently and continuously are the primary aims and functions of the IQAC.

Due to the apt guidance of the Management, great leadership of Principal, Dr. Kranti Deshmukh, and dedication, devotion and sincere efforts of Teachers, Staff of Administration and precious cooperation of the student, Marathwada Mitra Mandal’s Shankarrao Chavan Law College, Pune in the first cycle in 2018 has been awarded ‘A’ Grade by NAAC.

Objectives

IQAC shall continuously strive to achieve the following objectives for the holistic development of the institute.

  • To assure observance of highest quality standards in academic and administrative performance of the institution.
  • To work consistently towards the enhancement of quality through internalization of quality culture and institutionalization of best practices.
  • To develop a system that will contribute towards the quality up gradation of the overall performance of the institution and evolve mechanism for it.

Functions

  • Development and application of quality benchmarks
  • Setting standards for various academic and administrative activities of the institution;
  • Facilitating the creation of a learner-centric environment conducive to quality education and faculty maturation to adopt the required knowledge and technology for participatory teaching and learning process

A.Y. 2022-23
Strategic/Perspective plan for AY 2022-23:

In accordance with the vision and mission, the College has proposed the following in the academic year 2022-23:

  • To sign an MoU with Great Mission Group Consultancy (GMGC) to conduct collaborative academic activities.
  • To broaden the scope of Legal Aid Centre internationally. To introduce a course on ‘Law and Dharmashastra’ in collaboration with Bhandarkar Oriental Research Centre, Pune.
  • To get recognition for the Family Counselling Centre from the Maharashtra State Women Commission for furthering counselling services to the needy people.
  • To apply for permanent affiliation of Savitribai Phule Pune University, Pune.
  • To undertake Student-Faculty exchange programs with foreign universities aimed at providing wider exposure and dialogue through international industry-academia study tours.
  • To conduct experiential activities for students to understand interdisciplinary approach.
A.Y. 2021-22
Strategic/Perspective plan for AY 2021-22:

The present legal education demands skill-based professional training keeping in view the technological advancements. Law has always played a pivotal role in shaping and regulating the society, which inherently is dynamic in nature and is open to changes. It is thus imperative to imbibe necessary and required changes, both in law and legal education. Understand this driving factor, the institute initiated following strategic plans, which are in accordance with its vision and mission:

  • Established an International Centre for MMM Group of Colleges to explore various opportunities at international level.
  • Established a Mediation Center to address matrimonial, commercial, contractual, and community disputes.
  • Introduced a five-year B.B.A. LL.B. integrated course affiliated to SPPU.
  • Reconstituted a Legal Aid Cell by introducing legal, medical, and/or governmental experts from diversified fields, ensuring maximum participation of law students in Lok Adalats, and by promoting faculty as panel Judges in Lok Adalats.
  • Promoted participation in faculty enhancement programmes.
  • Introduced certificate courses on inclusivity, and appreciation of evidence in trials.
  • Established Ph.D. Research Centre
  • Conducted the Late Hon’ble Shri Shankarrao Chavan National Legislation Drafting Competition to inculcate legislative drafting skills in students.
  • Introduced the Centre for Interdisciplinary Studies.
  • Initiated internships for students with Government entities, NHRC, Research Institutes, etc.
  • Accelerated international collaborations with foreign countries
A.Y. 2020-21
Present Legal education demands skill based professional training with technological advancements. Law has always played a pivotal role in shaping and regulating society. However due to the dynamic nature of the society it keeps changing and accordingly law & legal education also should be changed. Therefore the institute has prepared following strategic plan for the AY 2020-21:
Strategic Plan for the AY 2020-21:
  • To support and develop the interest of students and inculcating skills in legislative or policy drafting SCLC starting  the  CENTRE FOR LAW, PUBLIC POLICY GOVERNANCE 
  • To establishing CENTRE FOR CRIMINAL JUSTICE ADMINISTRATION for study and Research in all stakeholders of Criminal Justice Administration 
  • SCLC conducts the Late Hon’ble Shri Shankarrao Chavan National Legislation Drafting Competition to inculcate the legislative drafting skills in students from different corners of India. 
  • To Publish edited book in collaboration with The Centre for the Study of Human Rights (CSHR), The Faculty of Law, University of Colombo, Colombo (SRI LANKA) 
  • To introduce new Certificate Courses on Drafting, Medical Jurisprudence, Forensic Science, Mediation, Negotiation etc.
  • SCLC sends our students for Internships with Government Entities such as NHRC, CCI, MCA, Police Research Institutes, etc. 
AY 2019-20
Strategic Plan for the AY 2019-20:  
With the object to edify value based legal education the Marathwada Mitra Mandal, Pune started the Law College in the name of its Founder President Late Shri Shankarrao Chavan with five years law course in the year June, 2003 & Three years Law course in June, 2004. We determine that education is purely the psyche of a society as it inflates up from one generation to the other. SCLC strongly believes that “Accomplishments are made by Efforts” With the mandate of providing qualitative and professional legal education SCLC is shaping & moulding its arms for budding lawyers. Though there are many milestones during this journey but there are many which are to be achieved To achieve these goals the institute has prepared following strategic plan:
  • The institute aims to become a globally acclaimed Centre of Excellence in imparting Legal Education.
  • Skill based professional legal education training to students so as to make them capable & competent in global competitions. For this autonomy is indispensable. We are looking forward to making our legal education centre Autonomous.
  • SCLC is keen to provide practical hands through training that will enable the budding lawyers to successfully enter, hold & sustain themselves in this noble profession of law.
  • Starting various interdisciplinary certificate courses for maximum practical exposure.
  • Starting Ph.D. Research Centre in Law
  • Undertaking consultancy projects to provide practical hands to students.
  • International Collaborations & linkages with global intellectuals, international bodies, academicians, recruiters to upgrade career advancement opportunities for students.
  • SCLC wishes to cross barriers of traditional teaching-learning methodology and want to give maximum exposure which is required for students.
  • SCLC is keen to provide opportunities for overall development of students & make them acquainted with skills and practices which are required in the legal profession like research skills, oratory, communication skills, proficiency in English, soft skills etc.
Future Plans for 2020-21:
In accordance with the Vision and Mission and keeping an eye on rapid development in society, the institution is planning to have the following for academic year 2020-2021:  
  • To establish CENTRE FOR LAW, PUBLIC POLICY GOVERNANCE aiming at understanding, critiquing, and reforming the laws, public policies and building the practical approach also aiming in action-oriented research and capacity development in the stakeholders regarding the public policy and good governance. It is to support and develop the interest of students and inculcating skills in legislative or policy drafting
  • To establish CENTRE FOR CRIMINAL JUSTICE ADMINISTRATION for study and Research in all stakeholders of Criminal Justice Administration which includes Investigation (Police), Prosecution, Court and Prison Administration which includes other important players/stakeholders i.e. Accused, victim of crime, witness and Juveniles etc. And also to undertake research projects to form the study groups 
  • To conduct Late Hon’ble Shri Shankarrao Chavan National Legislation Drafting Competition to inculcate the legislative drafting skills in students from different corners of India 
  • To have International collaboration with Nepal Law Campus
  • To proceed MOU with The Faculty of Law, University of Colombo, Colombo (SRI LANKA) to have Faculty Exchange Programme
  • To Publish edited book in collaboration with The Centre for the Study of Human Rights (CSHR), The Faculty of Law, University of Colombo, Colombo (SRI LANKA) 
  • To grow the E-Content Development Wing of Centre for Academic Research, Publication E-content in Law 8. To have publication of research done by students during 2019-2020 
  • To introduce four Certificate Courses on Decoding Corporate Real Estate Transactions Drafting Certified Workshop on Contract Management Medical Jurisprudence Forensic Science Tools Techniques of Mediation and Negotiation
  • To send our students for Internships with Government Entities such as NHRC, CCI, MCA, Police Research Institutes, etc. 
  • To conduct an International Seminar on International Law and Career Prospects.
