Best Practice 1: Institutional initiatives to discharge Social Responsibility through the Family Counselling Centre
The Family Counselling Centre, established in the year 2013, has successfully extended its pro bono counselling services and tendered legal advice in a significant number of cases and paved way for amicable settlement of disputes. Due to family counselling centers consistent contribution and efforts in counselling services, the center has received esteemed recognition from Governmental authorities, which demonstrates its commitment to high standards and impactful services. Family Counselling center is recognised Mediation Centre of High Court of Bombay, Mumbai and recognised counselling center of Maharashtra State Commission for Women. The contribution of Family Counselling Centre demonstrates the Institution's commitment to social engineering by leveraging its legal expertise. This aligns perfectly with the parent Institution's motto, Welfare of the Masses (Yethe Bahutanche Hit), emphasizing its dedication to serving society. The expertise of Hon’ble Justice Dr. Shalini Phansalkar-Joshi, Retired Judge, High Court of Bombay Mumbai, President of the center and Hon’ble Mr. V.V. Shahapurkar, Retired Principal Judge of Family Court, Pune, founder President of this Centre, enhances its trustworthiness. Consistent Pro Bono counselling services for more than a decade to couples entrapped in family disputes which saved many marriages from breaking The Centre has a Three-Tier mechanism to respond to the reported family issues:
- Response at Institutional level.
- Reference to the Counsellor or Legal Expert.
- Reference to the Panel Expert, if required.

Best Practice 2. International Collaborations –Cultivating across continents
The context of international collaborations for HEI involves establishing partnerships, initiatives, and activities that extend beyond national borders with an objective to promote knowledge, resource sharing capacity building of all stakeholders. This exposure broadens perspectives and enhances understanding of global legal issues. Hosting or participating in international legal conferences and symposia provide a platform for exchange of ideas, legal discourse, and networking among legal scholar and students from across the world.
Practice- It hosted University of Colombo, Sri Lanka on its Campus in 2020. In 2021, it published an edited book with ISBN circulated in both the Nations.
- In 2023, University of Colombo hosted a Student-Faculty Exchange Program during which the HEI conducted Legal Aid Activities and donated notebooks
- An MoU was signed with Universidad Peruana De Ciencias Aplicadas (UPC), Lima, PERU, where a conference was organised and a book was published in collaboration.
- In 2021, Transforming Mediation LLC, Georgia, USA signed an MoU and conducted an online 30 Hours Training Programme, a funded research project.
- In 2021, University of Chieti-Pescara, ITALY, joined by signing an MoU, collaborating with Competition Commission of India, organised a conference and published a book.
- In 2022, Lex Aquila, MAURITIUS signed an MoU. A conference was organised and a book was published in collaboration. Students would be going there for an Internship Program in 2024.
- In 2023, Tribhuvan University, NEPAL signed an MoU in a conference and appointed the Principal as External Expert for Ph.D. evaluation.
- In 2023, Industry Academia Visit to Europe (Poland, Germany and Prague) was organised under the MoU with Indo- European Education Foundation (IEEF), Warsaw, Poland.
- In 2023, for the first time, the HEI had organised a Conference abroad under the MoU with Villa College, Maldives, collaborating with the University of Essex, UK.

Best Practice 2 : Family Counseling Center
- In an attempt to discharge the social responsibility and to work for the betterment of the society, the college has established the Family Counselling Centre in 2013.
- It was inaugurated at the auspicious hands of Justice Anil Dave, Judge, Supreme Court of India, Delhi.
- The founder president of the Centre was Mr.V.V.Shahapurkar, Former Principal Judge, Family Court Pune.
- Pro bono counselling services are provided by Dr. Pravin Motiwala and Mr. Sudam Gayake, former counsellors from family court Pune.
- As an appreciation for this outstanding work, Family Counseling Centre got a recognition from Bombay High Court, Mumbai as an official mediation centre.
- Recognized counseling centre of Maharashtra State Commission for women.

Best Practice 1. Establishment of the Centre for Interdisciplinary Studies.
- The idea to establish a Centre for Interdisciplinary Studies in the College emerged with the implementation of National Education Policy 2020 in India, which by nature blurs the differences between various disciplines and offers flexibility in pursuing a degree, wherein a student obtains what s/he desires to learn.
- The primary objective of the Centre is to explore, study and understand the nexus between law and other disciplines which helps in developing a holistic approach in students.
- The Centre strives to achieve an aim of understanding, critiquing, and reforming the concept of ‘Law’ in relation to other disciplines.
- The Centre has an aim of building practical approach among the students and to develop interdisciplinary research skills through various proposed activities.
Best Practice 2. Vitalising knowledge of stakeholders by conducting need-based academic activities
- To widen the scope of learning and foster research aptitude of students; the college has organized state, national and international-level academic activities.
- These academic activities cover following areas: Competition Law, International Commercial Arbitration, Intellectual Property Rights, Public Health Law, Law of Evidence, Corporate Compliance, Law and Alternate Sexualities, Court Procedures and Professional Drafting, Forensic Science, Mediation Law, Interdisciplinary Research Methods, Corporate Readiness.

Best Practice 1. Social Welfare Activities During Pandemic
- In an attempt to give back to the society and to sensitize students to the stark realities of life, College has willingly contributed and facilitated payments of approximately Rs. 4,50,000/- during Pandemic by way of exemption in fees of students.

Best Practice 2: Legal Aid and Online Consultancy
- During the Pandemic situation, we have shifted to a virtual platform to provide legal aid and counseling to needy people.
- The Family Counseling centre has collaborated with PULA, a social media platform to provide free counseling to women and successfully provided counseling sessions to 39 people and resolved their disputes amicably through Zoom.
- Legal Aid Cell of our college also shifted to an online platform to provide online help by arranging some online lectures and by collaborating with Sanjivani NGO to create awareness about cancer.
- An online legal aid camp was organized at Shivaji Vidyalaya Higher Secondary School Dehne, Khed

The best practices of Shankarrao Chavan Law College (SCLC), focusing on the Centre for Academic Research, Publication, and E-content in Law (CARPEL) and an international collaboration with the University of Colombo's Faculty of Law.
Best Practice 1 : CARPEL's Objectives and Activities:
- CARPEL aims to foster research skills among students, faculty, and the community, enhance law research, and establish partnerships with governments and institutions.
- Research Wing focuses on training, research projects, workshops, international collaborations, and facilitating research in rural areas.

- E-Content Development Wing digitizes research, creates electronic content, and develops a repository for easy access.
- Achievements include international conferences on ‘Legal Dimensions of Human Rights in the Technological Realm’ in Collaboration of University of Colombo, published research, and collaboration with global institutions, without any major constraints due to adequate funding and infrastructure.
- Two of our Research projects were selected in Avishkar Research Project Competition 2020 organized by Savitribai Phule Pune University.
- Two of our students participated in Dr. B. R. Ambedkar National Essay Writing Competition and Essays got published in their Essay Compendium.
- Two of our Teams were participated in ConQuest 4.0: India’s Premiere National Quiz on the Indian Constitution, History and Politics and Secured Rank in Top 10.
- Publication Wing has successfully launched two law journals. One SCLC Law Review, which is an annual double-blind peer reviewed international journal publishes research paper from the Academicians, Professionals and Research Scholars with Editorial Board of International National Editorial Members, under the flagship of MMM’s SCLC CARPEL.
- This year we received more than 25 Papers from all over India out of which 10 got selected for final publication. Second SCLC Journal of Contemporary Issues (Student Edition), which is an annual double-blind peer reviewed national journal publishes research paper from law students with Student Editorial Board, under the flagship of MMM’s SCLC CARPEL. This year we received more than 50 Papers from all over India out of which 28 got selected for final publication.

- The collaboration focuses on research, student and faculty exchanges, joint publications, and conducting international conferences.
