LATE SHRI SHANKARRAO CHAVAN MEMORIAL STATE LEVEL ELOCUTION COMPETITION

Late Shri Shankarrao Chavan is the Founder President of our Institute. He was a great Parliamentarian, an able administrator and an excellent Spokesman. He was always concerned for academic standards. He served twice as Chief Minister to the State of Maharashtra in the year 1975 and 1986. He also served as Home Minister of India. He truly possessed all the characteristics of a great Leader and an Ideal Politician. Marathwada Mitra Mandal’s Shankarrao Chavan Law College is hosting an Elocution Competition since last eight years in the fond memory of its Founder President Late Shri Shankarraoji Chavan. Law Students from all over Maharashtra participate in the said Competition. The object of this Competition is to imbibe into nascent lawyers the skills of eloquence.

The College strives for education and development of the students from backward areas as well it attempts to provide them a platform to develop their skills. To achieve this, college organizes State Level Competition every year. This was the mission of our Founder President Late. Shri. Shankarrao Chavan and hence we accolade this competition to him. Late Shri Shankarrao Chavan Memorial 1st State Level Elocution Competition was Inaugurated by Hon’ble Justice S. B. Mhase (Judge, Bombay High Court).

Academic Year 2011-12

LATE SHRI SHANKARRAO CHAVAN MEMORIAL 4th STATE LEVEL ELOCUTION COMPETITION 2012

Late Shri Shankarrao Chavan Memorial 5th State Level Elocution Competition was inaugurated by Hon’ble Justice Ambadas. H. Joshi, Judge Bombay High Court.

Valedictory Function was chaired by Mr. V.V.Shahapurkar, Principal Judge, Family Court, Pune with Hon’ble Judge R.L.Malabade, Secretary, Legal Services Authority, Pune and Hon’ble Judge Umeshchandra More J.M.F.C.,Pune.

Following were the topics of the competition:

  • Foreign Universities in India:, Opportunities & Challenges.
  • Indian Government’s control over Social Networking.
  • Lokpal Bill-2011.
  • Socio-Legal dimensions of Live-in-Relationship.

Winners

  • Mr. Dhruv Joshi, Symbiosis Law School won the winner trophy and cash prize of Rs 5000/ and a Merit certificate.
  • Ms. Prachiti Deshpande declared as a First Runner Up and awarded a Trophy, cash Prize of Rs 3000/ and a Merit Certificate.
  • Ms. Centhia Gomes declared as a Second Runner Up and and awarded a Trophy, cash Prize of Rs 2000/ and a Merit Certificate

LATE SHRI SHANKARRAO CHAVAN MEMORIAL 5th STATE LEVEL ELOCUTION COMPETITION 2013

Late Shri Shankarrao Chavan Memorial 5th State Level Elocution Competition was inaugurated by Hon’ble Justice Ravindra Borde (Judge, Bombay High Court- Aurangabad Bench).

Following were the topics of the competition:

    • Reformation of rape laws-need of an hour
    • FDI-Boon or Bane
    • Right to vote vis-à-vis right to reject
    • Whether death punishment is sufficient to curb the terrorism?
    • Rights of Senior Citizens-Problems & solutions

Following were the topics of the competition:

  • Mr. Rohan Mirpuri, DES NFLC Law College, Pune won the winner trophy and cash prize of Rs 5000/ and a Merit certificate.
  • Mr. Solaiappan, I.L.S. Law College, Pune was declared as a First Runner Up and awarded a Trophy, cash Prize of Rs 3000/ and a Merit Certificate.
  • Mr. Saket Dang, I.L.S. Law College, Pune was declared as a second Runner Up and awarded a Trophy, cash prize of Rs 2000/ and a Merit Certificate.

Late Shri Shankarrao Chavan Memorial 6th State Level Elocution Competition was inaugurated by Hon’ble Justice M.G. Gaikwad (Former Judge, Bombay High Court)

  • Mr. Ajay Tambulkar, Modern Law College, Pune was declared as a First Runner Up and awarded a Trophy, cash Prize of Rs 3000/ and a Merit Certificate.
  • Miss. Shweta Parsodkar, Dr. Babasaheb Ambedkar Law College, Nagpur was declared as a Second Runner Up and awarded a Trophy, cash prize of Rs 2000/ and a Merit Certificate.

Late Shri Shankarrao Chavan Memorial 7th State Level Elocution Competition was inaugurated by Dr. Ajay Deshpande, Expert Member, National Green Tribunal, Pune.

  • Domestic Violance Act 2005 – Boon or Ban

Late Shri Shankarrao Chavan Memorial 6th State Level Elocution Competition was inaugurated by Hon’ble Justice K.R. Shriram (Judge, Bombay High Court):

  • Collegium system for the appointment of Judges- Advantages or Disadvantages
  • Legal Education in Maharashtra whether in English or Marathi.

LATE SHRI SHANKARRAO CHAVAN MEMORIAL 9th STATE LEVEL ELOCUTION COMPETITION 2017

Late Shri Shankarrao Chavan Memorial 9th State Level Elocution Competition was inaugurated by Hon’ble Mr. Justice Shrihari Davare, (Presiding Officer- Mumbai University and College Tribunal, Former Judge Bombay High Court) in the presence of senior Advocate M.P. Bendre, Pune.

Hon’ble Justice U. D. Salvi, Judicial Member, National Green Tribunal, Western Zone,Pune addressing and awarding trophy to the winner of the competition.

  • Mr. Akshay Patil, from DES NFLC, Pune, declared as a Second Runner Up and awarded a Trophy, cash prize of Rs 2000/ and a Merit Certificate.

LATE SHRI SHANKARRAO CHAVAN MEMORIAL 10th STATE LEVEL ELOCUTION COMPETITION 2018

The competition was inaugurated by the Hon’ble Justice Sambhaji Shinde sir, the judge of Bombay High Court’s Aurangabad bench. Mr. V. V. Shahapurkar sir, Former Principal Judge of Family Court, Pune was a Guest of honour for the programme.

  • First Runner Up:- Mr. Vijay Khodke, student from Adv. Ram Krishnaji Rathi Law College, Washim
  • Second Runner Up:- Mr. Madhusudan Shetty from V.P.M’s T.M.C.Law College, Thane

Academic Year 2018-19

LATE SHRI SHANKARRAO CHAVAN MEMORIAL 11th STATE LEVEL ELOCUTION COMPETITION 2019

The 11th  Late. Shri Shankarrao Chavan State level Elocution competition was organised on 19th January 2019 on the Golden jubilee foundation day of the Institution. Shri Dilip Deshmukh , Joint Charity commissioner of Pune was the chief guest of this occasion.In that event total 40 participant have participated from different area of Maharashtra. Shubham Kumar Joshi from Yashwantrao Chavan Law college, Pune declared Winner with a trophy and a prize of Rs . 5000 cash.  Sabir Kachhi of Ajeenkya D. Y. Patil University ,Pune stood 1st runner up with a trophy and cash of Rs. 3000 and More Shreya Sharad of Modern Law College, Pune bagged the trophy of  2nd runner up with a cash award of Rs. 2000.

Prize distribution ceremony ( Valedictory function ) was organized in Karvrnagar campus along with Golden jubilee function of the institution with the auspicious  hand of Hon’ble Vice Chancellor of Savitribai Phule Pune University Pune,  Sh. Nitin Karmalkar.
