JUSTICE P.B. SAWANT NATIONAL MOOT COURT COMPETITION
It has always been an objective of the College to work in holistic way. In order to achieve excellence in the field of education and with an intention to cross the barriers of traditional learning methodology college has commenced a National Moot Court Competition in the name of Legal Stalwart Hon’ble Justice P. B. Sawant – Former Judge Supreme Court of India.
2013-14
JUSTICE P. B. SAWANT 1ST NATIONAL MOOT COURT COMPETITION 2013
We received an overwhelming response in the very first year of the competition. This Competition was inaugurated by the auspicious hands of Hon’ble Justice H.L. Gokhale, Judge Supreme Court of India in the Presence of Justice P. B. Sawant Former Judge of Supreme Court of India.
Winning Teams
- I.L.S. Law College, Pune won the Winner’s Prize and was awarded with Cash prize of Rs. 15,000/-, trophy and Merit Certificate.
- National Law University and Judicial Academy, Assam won the First Runner Up Prize and was awarded with trophy, Cash Prize Rs of 10000/ and Merit Certificate.
- The Best Advocate Prize along with cash prize of Rs 5000/ and a merit certificate was won by Akhilesh Tukaram Jaiswal, I.L.S. Law College, Pune.
- Best Memorial Prize was awarded to National Law University and Judicial Academy, Assam.

JUSTICE P. B. SAWANT 2ND NATIONAL MOOT COURT COMPETITION 2014
This Competition was inaugurated by the auspicious hands of Hon’ble Justice Abhay Thipsay- Judge Bombay High Court and Justice Sadhana Jadhav – Judge Bombay High Court.


Winning Teams
- Rajiv Gandhi National University of Law, Patiala (Punjab) won the Winner’s Prize and was awarded with Cash prize of Rs. 15,000/-, trophy and Merit Certificate.
- Symbiosis Law School, Pune won the First Runner Up Prize and was awarded with trophy, Cash Prize Rs of 10000/ and Merit Certificate.
- The Best Advocate Prize along with cash prize of Rs 5000/ and a merit certificate was won by Akshay Pai, P.E.S.Law College, Dadar Mumbai.
- Best memorial Prize was awarded to School of Law, Sastra University, Thanjavvr, Tamil Nadu.

This Competition was inaugurated at the auspicious hands of Hon’ble Justice Gyan Sudha Misra – Former Judge, Supreme Court of India, Hon’ble Justice and S.R. Bannurmath- Former Chief Justice of Karnataka and Kerala High Court and Chairman Maharashtra State Human Rights Commission.

- University School of Law and Legal Studies, New Dehli won the Winner’s Prize and was awarded with Cash prize of Rs. 15,000/-, trophy and Merit Certificate by the Hon’ble Justice P.B. Sawant, Former Judge, Supreme Court of India.
- The Kerala Law Academy, Tiruavantpuram, won the First Runner Up Prize and was awarded with trophy, Cash Prize Rs of 10000/ and Merit Certificate
- The Best Advocate Prize along with cash prize of Rs 5000/ and a merit certificate was won by Miss Shakshi Gupta from University School of Law and Legal Studies, New Dehli.
- Best memorial Prize was awarded to National Law Institute Bhopal University.

This competition was inaugurated at the auspicious hands of Hon’ble Justice Jasti Chelameswar Judge, Supreme Court of India. For this program, Justice P. B. Sawant Former Judge of Supreme Court of India and Justice V. L. Achliya, Judge of Bombay High Court were present as guest of Honor.

- Symbiosis Law School, Hydrabad, Telangana won the Winner’s Prize and was awarded with Cash prize of Rs. 15,000/-, trophy and Merit Certificate by the Hon’ble Justice P.B. Sawant, Former Judge, Supreme Court of India.
- SNDT Law School , Mumbai , won the First Runner Up Prize and was awarded with trophy, Cash Prize Rs of 10000/ and Merit Certificate.
- The Second Runner Up Prize along with cash prize of Rs 7000/ and a merit certificate was won by Symbiosis Law School, Pune.
- The Best Advocate Prize along with cash prize of Rs 5000/ and a merit certificate was won by Hemang Hitendra Mehta from S.S. Maniyar law college, Jalgaon.
- Best memorial Prize was awarded to Tamilnadu National Law School, Trichrippalli.
- This year SCLC introduced the special Award of Appreciation to encourage the performance of a team from underdeveloped area, & this award was given to Bharti Vidyapeeth’s Yashwantrao Chavan Law College, Karad.

MMM’s Shankarrao Chavan Law College had organized Justice P.B. Sawant Fifth National Moot Court Competition, 2018 on 3rd & 4th February, 2018. Moot Court Competition had inaugurated by the Adv. Uday Warunjikar, Former Member, Bar Council of Maharashtra and Goa.

Academic Year: 2018-19MMM’s Shankarrao Chavan Law College had organized Justice P.B. Sawant Sixth National Moot Court Competition, 2019 on 2nd & 3rd February, 2019.On 2nd February,2019, Moot Court Competition had inaugurated by the Hon’ble Justice Ashok Bhushan, Judge, Supreme Court of India. For the inaugural programme, Hon’ble Justice K.R.Shriram, Judge, Bombay High Court, Mumbai was invited as a guest of honour. For this programme, Principal Bhausaheb Jadhav, Executive President, Marathwada Mitra Mandal, Pune, Mr. Sanjay Survanshi, Member, Marathwada Mitra Mandal, Pune, Mr. V.V. Shahapurkar, Former Judge, Family Court, Pune and other guests, media persons were present. The Valedictory and prize distribution ceremony was held in Dnyaneshwar Hall. Mr. S.B. Agarwal, Principal District and Sessions Judge, Shivajinagar Court, Pune was a Chief Guest for this function.
