The Legal Aid Cell and the Family Counselling Centre at our institution is dedicated to personalized and holistic education through tailored programs and certificate courses. Members of the cell provide counseling services, ensuring individuals facing legal challenges receive both emotional and practical support during difficult times. In collaboration with the District Legal Services Authority (DALSA), the cell actively engages in various legal initiatives, extending aid and support to those in need. Their involvement in legal aid clinics enhances accessibility to justice within the community. The cell also conducts prison visits, offering legal assistance to prisoners and contributing to the development of a fair and humane correctional system. Going beyond the college premises, the cell organizes legal literacy programs in outstation areas, empowering individuals with knowledge about their legal rights and responsibilities. These programs have been thoughtfully designed to furnish a holistic and personalized education that seamlessly aligns with the unique career aspirations of our students. Our institution firmly rests upon the pillars of community engagement, committed to fostering positive societal change. We have forged strong partnerships with local organizations and non-governmental organizations (NGOs) that are at the forefront of advocating for marginalized groups within our society, with a particular focus on differently-abled individuals, trans persons, and environmental issues. Also, NSS unit of the College, established in the academic year 2017-18, involves 50 student volunteers in diverse community service programs. Despite the challenges posed by the pandemic, the NSS Unit organized blood donation camps, vaccination drives, Legal Aid Camps, and designated NSS volunteers as Covid Warriors. Additionally, the Cell for Human Rights Activities conducts various initiatives throughout the year to promote human rights values, with the annual “Human Rights-Week” serving as a key event to instil these values in law students. Noteworthy efforts during the pandemic include distribution of school bags and educational materials in flood-affected Konkan areas, showcasing a strong commitment to social welfare.

The Equal Opportunity Cell of the college has initiated a successful Certificate Course on Law and Alternative Sexualities in 2021, completing its third edition in 2023 with updates. This course has received acclaim for addressing the history, socio-legal, medical, and mental health aspects relevant to the LGBTQIA+ community, contributing significantly to bridging knowledge gaps in this field. The C20 Samajshala, a G20 Initiative, recently honored the college for pioneering this ground breaking course.
